1. What Cookies Are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. On return visits the browser sends it back, which is how a site recognises a repeat visitor or remembers a preference. This page also covers similar technologies — local storage, session storage and web beacons — because they raise the same questions even though they are not technically cookies.

2. The Tools Themselves Use No Cookies

Worth stating plainly, because it is the part most people care about: the tools on DevPik do not use cookies to process your data. Text you paste into the Base64 encoder, the JSON formatter or any other utility is processed in your browser and never reaches our servers, with or without a cookie. The cookies described below relate to measuring traffic and displaying advertising. None of them can read the content you put into a tool.

3. Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful and where the site is slow or broken. It sets the `_ga` cookies listed above. This tells us that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from, and which page came before it. It does not tell us who you are, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

4. Advertising Cookies

DevPik loads Google AdSense. When ads are served, Google and its partners may set cookies to measure ad performance and to cap how often you see the same advert. You can control how Google personalises advertising for you — independently of this site, across every site that uses Google ads — at Google Ad Settings. You can also opt out of many third-party advertising cookies at YourAdChoices or Your Online Choices in Europe.

5. If You Are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland

Cookies that are not strictly necessary require your consent before they are set, under the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. Where that applies, a consent banner asks before advertising and analytics cookies are used, and you can change your answer at any time. If you are reading this and did not see a banner, you are most likely browsing from a region where prior consent is not legally required. You can still refuse or delete every cookie described here using the browser controls below, and the site will keep working.

6. How to Control Cookies

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, either entirely or per site:

• Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
• Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
• Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
• Google Analytics specifically — install the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, which works across every site

7. Cookies Set by Others

Some cookies here are set by Google rather than by us, on Google's own domains. We cannot read them, delete them on your behalf, or control their lifetime — that is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and the controls linked above. Pages that embed a YouTube video also load content from YouTube, which may set its own cookies when you play it. We use the `youtube-nocookie.com` domain for embeds, which defers those cookies until you actually press play.

8. Changes and Contact
